How are your tutors vetted?

Only a small fraction of applicants become Lanterna tutors. Every tutor goes through a rigorous three-stage vetting process before they ever teach a student:

1. Application screening — we check IB results, subject expertise and teaching background against our high bar.
2. Cultural & teaching-fit interview — a live interview assessing communication, teaching style, professionalism and integrity.
3. Teaching-quality & safeguarding checks — safeguarding training and quality checks before they start, followed by ongoing monitoring and regular student feedback once they are teaching.

Vetting doesn't stop at onboarding. We keep reviewing tutor quality throughout, using student feedback and quality checks, so standards stay consistently high.
