How does tutoring with Lanterna work?
An overview of how tutoring with Lanterna works, from applying for students to getting paid.
As a Lanterna Education tutor, you support students with the IB Diploma Programme, MYP, IGCSE, A Level, and related programmes through online one-to-one lessons.
Students buy packages of hours, called credits, through our website. When a student needs a tutor, we open a distribution on the Portal that trigger notification to all tutors approved for that subject (both on the Portal and sent to your email). You apply, and if you are selected we link you with the student. From there, you arrange lessons with the student, book each lesson on the Portal, deliver it, and mark it as completed. We pay you each month for the lessons you have booked and completed in the Portal.
1 credit = 1 lesson = 60 minutes of tuition. You can see how many credits a student has once you are linked with them. You will also see an approximate amount of credits that they have or are intending to purchase in the job distribution.
Tutoring with Lanterna is a part-time role, and the number of students you have will vary through the year.
