How does scheduling work across time zones?
Booking lessons when you and your tutor are in different time zones
Our tutors and students are based all over the world, so scheduling across time zones is something we handle every day — and it's more straightforward than it sounds.
You and your tutor simply agree a time that works for both of you. Because lessons are online, your tutor's location is never a barrier — it just means you have access to the very best IB tutors, wherever they are.
When a lesson is booked, you'll see the date and time in the Portal so you can confirm it against your own local time. A couple of quick tips:
- Always double-check the time zone when you agree a slot, so you and your tutor are picturing the same moment.
- Take extra care around daylight-saving changes, when clocks shift in some countries but not others.
And if you travel — on holiday, or moving between home and school — your lessons continue online exactly as normal. You just agree a time that fits wherever you happen to be.
Next step: Confirm the time zone with your tutor whenever you book. If a time ever looks wrong in the Portal, message us on live chat or email tutoring@lanterna.com.
