Cancelling or rescheduling a lesson

How to cancel or move a lesson, and the 24-hour policy

Plans change — and moving or cancelling a lesson is easy as long as you give your tutor enough notice.

The 24-hour rule

To cancel or reschedule a lesson, let your tutor know at least 24 hours before the lesson is due to take place. Once you've both agreed the change, your tutor will update the Portal — either removing the lesson or booking the new time.

Cancelling or not attending within 24 hours

If you cancel within 24 hours of the lesson, or don't attend (a student no-show), your tutor has the right to mark the lesson as 'Complete', and a credit will be used — this is our standard policy, so it's always worth giving as much notice as you can. (If it's your tutor who doesn't show up, you won't lose the credit — see What if my tutor is late or doesn't show up?)

To reschedule

Simply message your tutor with the times that work better for you. If you both agree on a new slot, your tutor updates the time in the Portal — there's nothing else you need to do.

Next step: Contact your tutor directly to cancel or move a lesson. If you can't reach your tutor, or you're having any difficulty, email tutoring@lanterna.com or message us on live chat and we'll help.
