DBS Certificates

DBS checks are carried out by the UK government's Disclosure and Barring Service, also known as DBS. A DBS check is a record of a person’s criminal convictions and cautions.

You cannot work in some situations if you have a criminal record.

A DBS check only relates to criminal offences in England, Wales, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.

We do not currently require tutors to hold a DBS. If you have a DBS, we can store this record for you on the Portal. To do so, email tutoring@lanterna.com if you are a Lantern tutor and tutoring@eliteib.co.uk if you are an Elite IB tutor, a copy of your certificate or your Update Service information.
