Non-Tuition Payments

In addition to booking tutoring lessons with students, you can claim payments for non-tuition work, such as retention bonuses, blog posts, interviews, and more, directly on the portal.

Claiming payments is easy and straightforward:

  1. Log into the Portal
  2. Navigate to "My Students" in the left hand Menu
  3. Expand the section "Non-Tuition Bookings" (here you will find all non-tuition booking types you are currently cleared for)
  4. Select the type of work performed to expand your booking activity
  5. Click "Claim payment" to open the claim payment form
  6. Enter the date and time your work was performed
  7. Write a note explaining your claim, for instance "retention bonus for student Jane Doe"
  8. Click on Claim payment to finalise your claim

Once you have claimed a payment, it will be sent to a member of the Lanterna team for approval. Once your payment has been approved, it will have the status "Approved" on the My students page. Note: Only valid and approved work will be eligible for payment. We reserve the right to reject any claim deemed invalid.

Once approved, your non-tuition payments will show up together with your completed lessons on the Finances page and on your payslip (PAYE) or Self-billing invoice (Contractor).
