Proving your right to work in the UK
Proving your right to work in the UK
If you are based in the UK (generally, if you are physically present in the UK for 183 days or more in a tax year you will be resident in the UK for that year), you must sign a UK PAYE Agreement, and to do so you must also have the right to work in the UK.
You can prove your right to work in the UK by proving Lanterna with your National Insurance Number (NIN).
If you do not have a NIN, you can still start working with us, but first you must:
- Prove your right to work in the UK; and
- Apply for a NIN
To prove your right to work in the UK, the simplest method is to:
- Use this UK government tool
- Send us a scan (front and back) or a piece of official ID (with a photo), like a passport or National Identity Card
- Provide us with your reference number and date of birth so we can consult your right-to-work record
