School Support | Changing lessons in Hive, cancellations, and student no-shows
Lesson changes in Hive should be handled carefully. Keep Lanterna informed, check your schedule after edits, and document student no-shows or last-minute changes.
Short answer
You may sometimes need to move, edit or respond to lesson changes in Hive, but this should be done carefully and with Lanterna kept in the loop.
If the school asks for a change
Minor changes are often manageable, for example:
- moving a lesson time
- shortening or extending a session
- occasional cancellations due to assemblies or school events
You do not have to treat every school request as automatically acceptable if it materially disrupts your schedule. If in doubt, pause and ask Lanterna.
If you need a change
Give as much notice as possible. Repeated late changes can affect delivery and future opportunities.
Important practical rule
Whenever lessons are changed:
- make sure Hive reflects the real schedule
- check the rest of your calendar for clashes
- keep written evidence of the request / change
Student no-show or missing students
If the lesson is correctly scheduled and you attend on time, document that you were present. Lanterna may run reports to confirm teacher presence.
If students do not attend:
- stay present for the session as appropriate
- notify the school if needed
- let Lanterna know what happened
Pay point
Lanterna pays for services actually carried out. A clean record of:
- correct schedule
- teacher attendance
- what happened in the session
is what protects you if attendance or scheduling is later questioned.
