School Support | Job status, application follow-up, and whether a role is still active

Check Hive first for application status. Most status questions can be answered there faster than by email.

Short answer

If you want to know whether a School Support role is still active or what happened to your application, check Hive first — especially "My Job Applications." As we grow, it is difficult to respond to individual applications, so we appreciate you taking time to check this first prior to emailing us.

What the usual statuses mean

In Hive, you may see things like:

  • in process → the selection process is still active
  • past → the role is no longer active / you were not selected
  • other job-specific status wording depending on the page and flow

What to do before emailing

Before writing to Lanterna, check:

  • the job in My job applications
  • whether your availability still matches
  • whether you need to add any new context or update your profile

When a follow-up email is useful

A short follow-up can help if:

  • your availability has changed in a way that now helps
  • you have a very strong piece of relevant context that was missing
  • the school requirement changed and you are now a better fit

When follow-up email is not the best use of time

Repeated “is this still active?” or “why didn’t I get it?” emails usually won’t change the outcome if the answer is already visible in Hive.

Best practical advice

Use Hive as the source of truth for application status, and use email only when you have a material update or there is something that genuinely looks wrong.
